Therefore the total weight of the spotting scope is twice of same construction. A numbers of scopes displayed on the website are about 0.6kilos. 20-60x60spotting scope is up to 0.9kilos.
Metal shell effects on the stability of optical axis:
Most of spotting scopes with low range, the shell are made with ABS plastic mainly. The prisms are pasted on the scope or boltjoint. Optical axis will be moved once spotting scope was either impacted or it was hot or wet. Moving axis will make imaging fuzzy. It will be very clear to see this fuzzy imaging if take the lens photo by camera.
Meanwhile, foggy and water penetration with the low rang spotting scope will be come out easily since the plastic material itself after a period.
Metal parts effect on lifetime of spotting scope
The plastic parts will be abrased more quick than the metal. Parts when the magnification is adjusted many times. The metal parts with aero metal can stand wear and tear, it will not be split even it is being adjusting thousands of times.
